End Mental Health Stigma

I’ve just heard that the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, has committed suicide.

I know little of his music, but I know how he inspired my friends and helped them through rough times.

Mental health is no joke.

Thousands of people have died of suicide this year, most notably Chris Cornell and now Chester Bennington.

We need to break the stigma that depression and suicide is an escape route for the weak.

Because it isn’t.

Poor mental health can affect us all.

We need to unite and help each other. Offer an ear to someone if they want to talk, listen to what is being said around us and try to help those who are showing signs of depression etc.

Depression and suicide doesn’t just affect those suffering from it. It affects those around them as well. Anyone who knows my history knows how being in proximity to suicide can affect a person.

If you can do anything today, help break the mental health stigma by supporting those around you.

If anyone on my blog ever needs someone to turn to, I’m here for you.

Please don’t suffer in silence
